The central theme of my work has always been to do with how landscapes are marginalised. In 2008 I produced a small series of images, Nacht, 2008 in Berlin that (whilst were inevitably affected by the loaded histories of that space) attempt to navigate the unconscious resonance of more banal and peripheral locations within the city. A kind of somnambulists journey through the city, darkness and focus are used to obscure vision and clarity, but allude to an unsettling nocturnal drama in which history impinges on the present.
